Baby Only Has Reflux At Night




Studies on baby acid reflux australian doctors examined 24 babies who were so irritable they had to be hospitalized (all under 3 months of age) each was checked for acid reflux, but only one had it in fact, studies now show that even babies who do have severe reflux usually have no pain. Baby only has reflux at night. Acid reflux is worse at night for three reasons first, the concentration of acid in the stomach is higher at night second, in the lying position, it is easier for acid to reflux and to remain in the esophagus, gravity does not take the acid back down into the stomach third, while we are sleeping, we don't swallow.

For whatever reason, mine only has the reflux issue in the last four-five hours before bed after she has a few hours of sleep she takes her middle of the night feed with no issues at all then all day long she's fine 6-11pm is the time her reflux kicks in i think it has something to do with that being her most wakeful time of the day. Because acid reflux occurs after meals, don’t put your infant to bed immediately after a feeding. instead, burp them and wait 30 minutes before lying your baby down for a nap or for the evening.. This is usually only after trying other things or if their reflux is severe. causes of reflux. reflux happens because muscles at the base of your baby's food pipe have not fully developed, so milk can come back up easily. your baby's muscles will develop as they get older and they should grow out of it..
